A-league Clubs
The 2008/2009 A-league season is showing some promise with many clubs changing their teams in order for some success. Here is the low down for the 8 teams
Sydney FC
Sydney have a major team change with a deal in excess of one million buying big for the 2008/09 season. Simon Colosimo (Perth Glory), Mark Bridge (Newcastle Jets), Stuart Musialk (Newcastle Jets) and John Alosis (Central Cost Mariners) joining the team.
However in order to get these players Sydney have lost some greats in the team. Mark Milligan, David Zdrilic, Ruben Zadkovick and Patrick have been released. Mark Rudan and Ufuk Talay have signed with division two Japanese team Avisspa Fukuoka. And finally 2002 world cup winner and Sydney's marquee player Juninho has also left the club.
Wellington Phoenix
After claiming the wooden spoon in the 2007/08 a league season the New Zealand team can only improve. However it will be a struggle with the loss of marquee player Ahmand Elrich to the Mariners and the clubs captain Ross Alosis ending his football career. The 34 year olds decision came after a serious ongoing back injury.
But Wellington are looking to the future signing promising young Australian midfielder Troy Heartfield from Newcastle Jets.
Wellington also signed Leo Bertos (Perth Glory) and Andrew Durante (Newcastle Jets)
Central Coast Mariners
Runners up last season the Mariners are seeking some silver ware for the coming up season. with the loss of John Aloisi to Sydney FC and Tony Vidmar to retirement the mariners have found another big name to fill their spots. Socceroo veteran and previous Fulham FC player, Ahmad Elrich has been signed from rivals Wellington Phoenix and there is speculation of signing Dwight York.
The Mariners also lost Tom Pondeljak to Melbourne Victory.
Perth Glory
Perth Glory has added another two players to their squad for next season with West Australian midfielder Josip Magdic to make his return to the Hyundai A-League following a stellar season with Floreat Athena and Naum Sekulovski has extended his stay in Perth for another year.
Newcastle Jets
Newcastle have a big job if they are to defend their role as 2007/08 a league champions. The loss of Mark Bridge and Stuart Musialk to Sydney FC will have a big impact. Also Andrew Durante and Troy Hearfeild to Wellington Phoenix
Adelaide United
Adelaide United are having a successful time in the AFC being on the top of the table.

Melbourne have signed Billy Celeski (Perth Glory), Tom Pondeljak (Central Coast Mariners) to boost their team. However have lost Adrian Caceres to Central Coast and released Ljubo Milicevic.
Queensland Roar
Queensland Roar lost Sasa Ognenovski to Adelaide United and released Simon Lynch and Marcinho. Queensland also lost star striker and Brazilian Reinaldo to Korean Busan I'Park.
