Arsenal Need More than Young Guns
April 14th 2008 02:07
Arsenals 2-1 loss to Manchester United means the Gunners face a third successive season without silverware and many are questioning is youth really better than experience.
The average age for the Arsenal team is 24, with many in their early 20's and some even their late teens.
With the summer transfer window opening soon many are asking Arsene Wenger if he will buy players. But the Frenchman said, "We will continue to do what we've done. I will buy but not too much in the summer. My priority is to keep this team together because we are still young.
The 2003/04 season was a highlight for the Gunners. Finishing top of the table, 11 points ahead of Chelsea and ending the season undefeated.
Arsenal were known as the Untouchables and with players like Pires, Henry, Vieira, Cole, Ljungberg and Bergkamp is was obvious why.
In my opinion Arsenal need an experienced player for the youth to look up to and learn from.
